Eugene Atget Collection. [ca. 1900-1956, bulk ca. 1900-1910].

Comprised of 24 loose albumen prints and 2 gelatin silver prints, this collection of photographs focuses primarily on the gardens, statues, and fountains of Versailles. Also included are views of Parc de Saint-Cloud, an interior courtyard of Fontainebleau, street scenes in Paris (including a view of the Moulin Rouge), Chatenay-Malabry, Beauvais, and Bourg-la-Reine. The two gelatin silver prints were made by the American photographer Berenice Abbott in the late 1950s. (Abbott had met Atget in 1927, and two years after his death, in 1929, she brought 2000 of his negatives to the U.S.).
